Jazz Fables Concerts on November 14 and 21

presents Bloomington’s own Janiece Jaffe, singing
her Fall Jazz Fables concert with her
DaVida Trio +1: feat. Peter Lerner-guitar
(jazz recording guitarist from Chicago),
Dave Bruker-bass, + David Miller-trumpet, flugelhorn, performing Janiece’s versions of her favorite jazz classics, great American songbook classics, Jobim’s Bossa Novas, and pop tunes, incl. from her CD: Songs That Make You Feel This Way, Standing on the Edge, Saturday’s Child, Heart’s Desire, It Takes Two, & Keep the Flame Alive.
For this concert, they’ll perform classic standards from the Great American Songbook, such as:Bye Bye Blackbird (Mort Dixon), Come Rain or Come Shine(Harold Arlen), Days of Wine & Roses(Henry Mancini), Look for The Silver Lining (Jerome Kern), For All We Know,

Thursday Nov. 21, 5:30-8p.m., $9 gen.adm., $7 students, Jazz Fables Concert Series presents The John Raymond Quartet, featuring IU Asst. Jazz Prof./NYC jazz trumpeter/composer/band leader/recording artist John Raymond,
IU Asst. Prof./Chicago-based saxist/composer/band leader Greg Ward-alto sax, with IU Jazz Bass Prof. Jeremy Allen-bass, and IU 2nd year grad student Jameson Scriver-drums.
They’ll play primarily original contemporary jazz compositions by John Raymond and Greg Ward, including from their recent albums and more, plus their contemporary arrangements of jazz classics & standards.
